Hey Hey, as you all know, when Rob’s not writing music for his solo albums or Matchbox Twenty, he’s working with a plethora of other artists writing and collaborating .. probably most famous of which was his collaboration with Santana on his comeback hit Smooth – from Santana’s album Supernatural. Now, Rob has partnered with the guitar great again on the Cream classic ‘Sunshine of Your Love,’ which will be on Santana’s upcoming album.

The original collaboration resulted in the massive single Smooth, originally written by Rob Thomas and Itaal Shur and then Rob Thomas provided the vocals on the track. The single bust onto the music scene in 1999 and became the soundtrack for the summer that year, being played virtually everywhere. No one on the planet seemed safe from the toe tapping upbeat summer beats and funky guitar scales.

The song won three grammy awards and spent 10 consectutive weeks at the top of the Vspot To20 Countdown – recordbreaking stuff!.
